Dear Friends,
That’s more than a slogan- it’s a personal commitment.
When I was elected in June 2007, I hit the ground running with a strong, passionate drive to get things done in Tallahassee. I determined to be a new kind of leader who brings change to the old system of government in Tallahassee.
That desire for change is what has driven me to represent all the people of Marion County and of District 24. I was able to build coalitions and work across party lines to champion meaningful legislation important to our citizens of Marion County.
One of my most cherished moments was standing with the families as Governor Crist signed the Barwick-Ruschak Dating Violence Act. I know that the effort and passion to pass meaningful legislation are what citizens expect form their leaders and what we must do to shape and protect our state.
I was honored to receive the award of Freshman Legislator of the Year for accomplishments in protecting our citizens, saving our water, helping senior citizens, and providing for children in schools. In giving the award the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) spokesperson stated, “He always has an open door; he’s well informed and asks smart questions.”
I pledge to continue to work harder, smarter, and to get results for you. I will appreciate your vote on November 4. My door is always open to you.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
|
